  • Great Truck - 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

I had a station wagon but wanted a truck, but also the room for my grandkids. With this truck I have both. The bed seems small and I was a little worried about that for I have horses, but it will hold 3 bales of hay. So it is just perfect for me. I have leather interior that is very comfortable. To sum it all up I love my truck

The Explorer Sport Track has to be one of the coolest vehicles made. Durable, comfortable; even with a small bed with the tail gate down and the cage opened I can manage to get two dirt bikes in the back, so the small bed is good if you dont want a full size truck. I love the way it drives nice and quiet for a truck. It has plenty of power to haul a load, but yet cool enough to take friends and family on a trip. It is black with two tone grey leather interior and it also has painted bumpers and let me tell you when you clean this thing up it looks amazing! I plan to keep this truck a long time, it has been my favorite!

This is my second SportTrac. I was extremely happy with the first until a little old lady in a 71 Lincoln sled totalled it. I came away from the accident with only bumps and bruises and was as impressed as thankful.I turned around and purchased another ASAP. It has performed well in inclement weather and off-road. The 4.0 liter has plenty of guts, the interior is comfortableand seats five easily. Granted, the bed is small but I dont need a full size truck. This is a niche vehicle and fits perfectly into my niche. Unlike the Avalanche it also fits perfectly in my garage. A lockable, removeable hard tonneau cover is a great accessory. This truck draws stares and lots of thumbs up!

  • Much room for improvement - 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

I like the truck a lot. Nice styling, good features like the bed extender and bed cover. Lot of room in the back seat. Good off road capabilities, both in 4H and 4L. Only problem are the side steps which are quite low and tend to touch the ground off road. My biggest problem is my dealership; the after sales service is as bad as can be. Build quality is fair and reliability not as good as a Japanese make.

Overall this vehicle fit all of my needs at a reasonable price. I needed a 4 door truck, but I didnt want a vehicle that was too long. I have been extremely pleased with the truck so far. Handles well and has good pep when you need it. I also like the fact that I can haul things and not have to worry about a bed liner or scratching the paint.

  • The best truck Ive ever had - 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

My Sport Trac is the funnest truck Ive ever driven, and its absolutely gorgeous. The unique body style makes it a real head-turner and I couldnt be happier! I LOVE IT!

  • Good to go - 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

My Trac does everything I need it to. I do a lot of hunting and 4 wheeling and the Trac has enough tow power to tow my boat and atv trailers. The ride is not as smooth as I would like after being spoiled in a 04 F150. The interior is kind of boring compared to the 07 models and the 04 and newer F150s and 05 and newer Explorers.

Its been one of the best vehicles I have ever owned, I bought it just before the gas prices went through the roof. Still not too bad on fuel consumption. On the highway Im averaging 21-22 mpg. Great little truck.

  • Couldnt be happier! - 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

I originally looked at Sport Trac when they first came out years ago, but was able to get away with buying a much cheaper xtra cab Tacoma. Since then the kid has gotten a lot bigger and he was getting cramped in the back of the Yo. I looked at all the small/mid-size crew-cab trucks and found flaws with all of them. The Sport Trac had the fewest cons and by far the most pros. Since then I am extremely happy with my choice and with this Ford product. There is tons of room in the back seat (tested a Frontier, Tacoma, Dakota or Colorado). Front seats are extremely comfortable. Reliability is first class. Good job Ford. I am looking forward to testing a 2008 soon- gorgeous interiors!

  • Pretty Good SUV - 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

The truck is a solid vehicle. We had trouble with the transmission at 10,000 miles but was handled promptly by the dealership. The only other issue I have is that the front seats on long trips become very uncomfortable for both my wife and me. We use the truck for everything;, skiing, snowmobiling, boating, biking. Really its the perfect sports vehicle; not too big not too small and decent gas mileage.
